Painting expresses what I am feeling, seeing and hearing all around me. Nature has always been the inspiration for my work: cloudscapes, ocean scenes, wind-swept hillsides and glorious sunsets. I love to blend colors with the freshness and freedom of natural scenes, but often with an abstract interpretation. What is difficult to say in words comes through color, light, shape and movement in paint, evoking for the viewer their own feelings.
Painting is how I speak from the soul.
A native West Virginian, Anna Marie Mead has made Colorado home for over 40 years where she makes creating art part of her every day life. As a professional artist she has a studio in Denver’s Santa Fe Arts District. This studio is located at the BitFactory (#105), and here she has enjoyed creating as well as exhibiting her paintings in the gallery.
Most recently she had an exciting solo show “Transitions” in the BitFactory Gallery. This show is very close to Anna Marie’s heart as she is also transitioning. In the future she is looking forward to a team show with fellow jewelry artist Julie Sims. These two ladies are looking forward to a great collaboration of jewels and jewel like paintings.
